Gabe Wasylko
Cleveland Photographer
I didn’t grow up in a darkroom and no one ever handed me a perfectly polished DSLR as a kid. My photography journey was more… let’s call it untraditional. It started with a challenge I gave myself: take one photo a day and share it on Twitter. What began as a simple experiment quickly grew into an obsession and eventually pushed me to jump headfirst into photography.
Alongside photography, I’ve built nearly 10 years of experience in digital marketing and social media — from professional sports to destination marketing — giving me a unique perspective on how visuals connect to brand storytelling. That blend of creative and strategic thinking has shaped how I collaborate with clients, from local organizations like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Museum of Art and Gardiner to national brands like Fujifilm.
Whether I’m documenting a special brand project, capturing portraits that feel true to the person in front of the lens or framing the energy of a city-wide celebration, I approach every shoot with the same goal: tell a story that resonates.
Most days you’ll still find me out in Cleveland — camera in hand and coffee not far behind — sharing the city’s heartbeat in real time. But behind the scenes I’m also creating for clients who want more than a snapshot; they want images that feel alive, authentic and uniquely theirs.
Because at the end of the day photography for me isn’t just about pressing the shutter. It’s about creating a connection — between people, places and the moments worth remembering.
